Education Plus
In the quiet coastal villages of Tanzania, where the rhythm of daily life often masks the silent struggles of young girls, the Education Plus project emerged as a powerful force for change.
Nguvu ya Msichana Project
Through targeted programming, participants gain critical awareness of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), equipping them to make informed decisions about their bodies and well-being.
You Can Project: End Stigma Tour
Through its flagship campaign, the End Stigma Tour, the project set out to dismantle the barriers that prevent adolescents and youth from accessing SRH services and information freely, safely, and without shame. 500 student reached.
Ajira Kibwetana Project
Breaking the berries to build the society girls want to see Society has grown to consider girls not being able to do some work that men do and we want to get rid of those negative attitudes by showing that GIRLS can do things that seem masculine.
Binti Makini Center Project
According to the UNESCO report of 2013, it found that about 31 Million girls were not at school, and about 1 out of 4 young women in developing countries including Tanzania, had never completed their primary school education.
Binti Makini Festival
Binti Makini Festival is the platform that started in 2020 and aimed to bring together youth from different universities to learn, discuss, network, share experiences, and find solutions to the challenges affecting the young generation including gender equality, employment, leadership, Health issues, GBV, technology and innovation.
Who are We?
Binti Makini Foundation (BMF) is a Non-Government Organisation established in 2017 and registered in 2019 by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Elderly and Children of Tanzania under the Non-Governmental Organisations Act, 2002 with registration number 00NGO/R/075. BMF is a local and national-level organisation that is a humanitarian, girl-child-centred, development organisation, without religious, political, or governmental affiliation.
Our Programs
Power of Voice Project
In response to the increasing threat of internet shutdowns in Tanzania especially during elections Binti Makini Foundation successfully implemented a national advocacy project focused on protecting digital rights and freedom of expression.
These actions disproportionately affected women, youth, and persons with disabilities, many of whom lacked the tools or knowledge to bypass censorship or protect them online.
Girls Mentorship Summit Project
Universities produce a substantial part of the workforce responsible for the development.HLI is imperative because it shapes individuals for future positions of influence, especially in government, business, and professional fields. University graduates join society and influence policy reform, legal ideals, and the overall well-being of the country.

Awareness raising and capacity building session with youth from schools and colleges
The first project titled as YOU CAN PROJECT aim at reducing Stigma that is a complex social process that often leads to social and economic exclusion of individual youth on accessing SRH information and services. Stigma often targets those who transgress or who are perceived to transgress social norms governing appropriate behavior.
Binti Makini Festival
BINTI MAKINI Festival is the platform which started 2020 aimed to bring together youth from different university to learn, discuss, networking, sharing experience, and finding solution to the challenging affecting young generation including gender equality, employment, leadership, Health issues, GVB, technology and innovation.
Education Plus
The project titled Education plus aims at raising awareness on sexual reproductive health amongst women and teenager aged 13 to 45 in Tanzania coastal villages initiated changes in coastal villages where the participants Became “agents of change” by using new knowledge on reproductive health and tools acquired throughout the project
Ajira Kibwetana Project
Sofa making program to female graduates from different universities in Dar es Salaam
The project named Ajira kimbwetani aim to encourage University students to use vimbweta as an opportunity to bring them together and think beyond academic issues especially the life after college and thus design joint projects that will help to solve employment problem.
