About Us
The History
In 2017 a group of educated girls, dynamic and like-minded youth working in the development sector from the University of Dar es Salaam, got together to establish an organisation, for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of the girl's community. True to this spirit the organisation was named Binti Makini Foundation. Consequently, the organisation's focus was not kept limited either in terms of geography or sector. Whilst operating in different universities and later around off campus, BMF has been carrying a range of interventions in the areas of Education, SRHR, Economic justice, Leadership, Sports, and entertainment.

Goal
The goal of BMF is to contribute to improving the living standard of young women through community mobilisation, capacity building, advocacy & strengthening of institutions at the grassroots level.

Vision
To see girl’s community discover their potential, dream, achieve fulfilling future and defeating all gender barriers.

Mission
The mission of BMF focuses on building confidence in girls by giving them education, and physical and emotional support to encourage girls and women to make social, economic, and political changes in their lives.
Strategy
A sustainable strategy is devised to achieve the maximum, and a need-based and right-based approach initiated ascertains the problem with full community involvement and mobilises all indigenous and local resources. The program goal is materialised with a helping hand from member donor agencies and friends of BMF.

Values
Overall Objective
The overall development objective of (BMF) is to enhance the ability of the target communities to tackle their own economic, social, and environmental problems for sustainable community development.

Specific Objectives
1. To promote Youth toward self-realisation through awareness raises and capacity building.
2. To explore and explicitly seek an insight into the core challenges facing the youth generation.
3. Preparing young leaders and increasing girl’s participation in decision-making bodies.
4. To collectively prepare youth to enter the world of globalisation and its, Multi-dimensional implications.
5. Creation of income-generating activities through Youth and Women Skill training.
6. Capacity-building training sessions on women and youth rights related to civic education.
7. Eradication of the negative social attitudes and traditional practices harmful to young women through awareness raising and training on the hazards of such practices.
8. Promoting friendly SRHR services for youth to access services and information.
Our Programs and Projects
At Binti Makini Foundation, we empower girls and young women through trans-formative programs that focus on economic empowerment, human rights and gender equality, and mentorship and nurturing. Our work is driven by a vision of a just and inclusive society where every girl and young woman has the opportunity to thrive.
